Reach Out With Outreach
Looking for ways to use your talents to be more involved at church? Look no further! The Milton Church Outreach Committee is looking for people just like you to lead outreach activities. Here are some of the ways you can be involved. Do you have a passion for teaching? Are you fascinated by language? Why not be an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher? Milton Church would like to get an ESL program going, but we need someone to take charge! How about quilting? Photography? Cooking? Crafting? Bird-watching? Music? Milton Church has a program we call Free Market Groups (FMG). These small groups get together to focus on something the members enjoy. Take a look at your own interests and consider starting your own FMG today!. Another unique way to get involved this year is by participating in the Milton-Freewater area Live Nativity. It will be held December 13 and 14 at the Milton Church, with participation from several other area churches. There will be live animals (perhaps even a camel!), folks in costumes, good music, and hot soup. What a way to share the good news with our community! Leaders and participants are needed to make this Journey to Bethlehem happen. We need wood-workers, food-preparers, musicians, people willing to become a part of the Bethlehem scene, animal managers, and prop donators. If you want to learn more about how you can help spread the Christmas story throughout the Milton-Freewater area, contact Becky St. Clair at 509-301-9549 or vakker.cheerios@gmail.com. There are many opportunities for outreach coming to the Milton Church. There will be a diabetes program, a depression recovery program, a parenting series, Financial Peace University, 12 Hours to a Great Marriage, a series on the book of Daniel from a health perspective, an evangelistic month with Lyle Albrecht, and of course, our booth at Muddy Frogwater Days. And we’ve already got Oasis (our 12-step program) and Pathfinders going. For more information on outreach programs at Milton Church and how you can get involved, contact Gladys Wentland at wentgl@msn.com. Upcoming EventsSat, Jul 5th, 2008, @1:00pm General Potluck
